More Celebrating

I planned a very last minute birthday party for Matty (a lot was going on this week and I was waiting on some things to determine other things).

Not everyone could make it but Matty enjoyed all those who did.

I made cepcakes and dyed all the icing myself. made me question what i was thinking trying to get all the done the morning of a party that started at 10 am.

We stayed out back and just let all the kids play and had a wonderful time with snacks and fellowship. I must admit I am very sad I was so disorganized. I forgot to invite some people, other very special people couldnt make it and still others were rushed to get from one place to another to another. I sure didnt do a great job this time around but I know Matty loved it. To everyone else, I am so sorry.

Three

My oldest little man turned three years old on the 7th. It seems like such a small number for a boy who seems to have always been part of my life. Funny how that is, eh?

We started off the day by taking the family to the restaurant for a birthday breakfast. Matty got extra whip cream on his waffles and had a wonderful time. He got to open one gift there: his new cars that he later told my mom were "bootiful".

He spent a lot of his day with Daddy, helping work on the house while I worked on making brownies for his birthday dessert.

Later we had uncle Daniel, Aunt Amanda, Brayden and Tante Tara over and we had a birthday dinner together. I must admit it was not a dinner to be proud of but we tried to think of something Matty would enjoy eating (he is the hardest kid to get to eat) and we came up with french fries and pogos. When he was asked he first said he wanted cheesies (so we got some of those to go on the side) but then he said he just wanted snacks. Oh what a boy.

Once dinner was over we had some ice cream with sprinkles (Matty would much rather eat ice cream over cake. He leaves cake on the plate and asks for more ice cream) and opened his presents. Gum, duplo, dvd, animals and cars... could a little boy ask for more?

Once that was done, it was off to bed. We had a very tired birthday boy.

We love you little one. You are now the big brother to two brothers and they will look to you for their examples. May you show them kindness and love and I pray that you will grow to be a man who loves and serves the Lord.

Happy birthday our precious man.
